February 10, 2023WEF – World Economy Forum Zurich 2023 Ramp Tour
The World Economic Forum is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. It was established in 1971 as a not-for-profit foundation and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The annual forum ist taking place in Davos, Switzerland and engages the foremost political, business, cultural and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. During the meeting, the ramps at Zurich Airport are full with private business and government jets and the WEF is one of the top events for every plane spotter!
Spotters can still be glad and thankful to Zürich Airport to allow AeroTerminal (ex BuchAir) running the ramp tours during the WEF period. This allows many of us to experience some interesting point of views. 2023 it was a bit different as before. We noticed less ramp tours offered, higher prices at some and in general the tour guides were less experienced (lack of good orientation of sun/light positions and waste of time per aircraft). Tickets are sold out fast and you should plan and book your tickets quickly for the next tours in 2024 on the official AeroTerminal website.
WEF 2023 was marked by the visit of the South Korean president who arrived from Abu Dhabi with its large delegation (B737 HL8290, B788 HL8508, B748 22-001 & GLF6 HL8068). Nonetheless, the Colombian president surprised more than one spotter by using it's Air Force Boeing Business Jet (FAC1219) instead of the most common previously seen (FAC0001).
