The airport of Oklahoma City is named after the local personality, Will Rogers. It is the busiest airport of the state of Oklahoma and handeld almost 4 Mio passengers back in 2022. Almost all major US carriers flying in and out of OKC. A National Guard Base is located on the northern side of the the field.
General Information | |
Terminal | There is one terminal with a total of 23 gates. |
Runway | The airport has four runways. The two big parallel runways 17L/35R and 17R/35L are most time in use. 13/31 is the crosswind ruwnay, used during strong winds. 18/36 is the shortest one and not really in use. |
Terminal Hourly Parking Garage | |

WHERE | Drive to the airport and follow the signs to the “Hourly” parking garage. The first hour is free of charge, every further hour is 1 USD. This garage is a bit lower hence walk to the garage behind you which is higher. Now positioning yourself either on the east or on the west side. |
WHAT | In general you can see all movements of the airport. For photography it is great for the taxiway movements to and from the runway. The eastern runway and taxiway is a bit closer than the western one. (AS 737 and AA taken from the west side, all others from the east) |
TIME | Morning hours best for the west side, afternoon for the east side. Be aware of heat distortion, especially planes on the runway. |
MISC. | Terminal is just around the corner where all amenities can be found. |

I can send more OKC spots. The parking garage has recently been stalked by OKC security, and there are simply better locations.
