13/31 | No preferred direction, all depends on the wind. |
Spot #1 – Crash Gate – 31 Movements | |
---|---|
WHERE | The site is located simply at the southeastern end of runway 31 by a gate in the fence. You can drive up to the gate (via unnamed field roads), park there – but remember that there is a fire road, so not directly in front of the gate please! And then you can simply spot from here. |
WHAT | Runway 31 movements (arrivals are better though) as well as taxiway Romeo (R) and Hotel (H). |
TIME | From noon until sunset. Backlit in the morning hours. |
MISC. | Ladder recommended, but you can also take photos without it. You should stock up on drink and food as there are no places to buy drink (the nearest is termnial). There are no problems with the police. Now the road should be better as the bushes have been cut, but you have to be careful as there are numerous holes in the road leading here. |
FOCAL LENGTH | 70-300mm E175 = 140mm |
Spot #2 – Field – 13 arrivals | |
---|---|
WHERE | There is a local road which is running parallel to highway. Get on the local road 13 and park by the roadside next to the 13 approach path. There is a field where you can stand, right next to the forrest line. Walk from the terminal is approximate 1800 meters. |
WHAT | Runway 13 arrivals only. |
TIME | From noon until sunset. Backlit in the morning hours. |
MISC. | You should stock up on drink and food as there are no places to buy drink (the nearest is termnial). and beware of the wildlife that occurs there (deer, roe deer wild boar) |
FOCAL LENGTH | 70-300mm |
Spot #3 – Hangars – All movements | |
---|---|
WHERE | There is a crash gate next to the hangar Aerogryf where you can stay. It is located 800 meters east from the terminal and you can go there on foot or car. |
WHAT | All movements on the runway as well as the taxiway in front. |
TIME | Only in the summer mornings. No sun on this side in the winter. |
MISC. | Be aware that the grass may be not cut proper. Ladder recommended, but you can also take photos without it through the crash gate. You should stock up on drink and food as there are no places to buy drink (the nearest is termnial). and it may be possible to drive up SOL, airport security service, so you need to report taking pictures |
FOCAL LENGTH | 70-300mm |
I’d like to add another spot for approaches on rwy 13. Next to the highway, there is a road where you can stop and watch planes flying right over your head.
The location has just been added to the guide.
