Sibiu International Airport is the fith busiest airport in Romania and welcomed almost 800.000 pax in 2019 mainly on Wizz Air flights. Other carriers are Lufthansa and Austrian. Flights are mainly ethnical traffic for workers flying to and from Germany. The number of passengers is growing constantly, thus the airport is increasing its capacities.

Car/Public Transport	A car is mandatory to reach the locations.
Drinks/Food	Nothing available at the spots. There is a big supermarket at the road to the terminal.
Hotels	There is a big Mercure Hotel next to the terminal road. But no one with a airport view.
Season	Best weather is during the summer season.
Security	We had no problems at any of the locations.
Runway Usage
09/27	Used in both directions, only depends on the wind.

	Spot #1 – Cemetery – 27 arrivals
WHERE	The location itself is at the eastern corner of the airport at a farm track, next to a cemetery. It is only reachable by car. From the airport drive to Sibiu and then turn right from the main road into the Str. Topârceanu. At a point the road turns into a farm track. Park there on the side of the road and continue by foot for aproximate 100-200 meters until you see a cemetery to the left hand side. This is your place to be!
WHAT	The runway is elevated and you can see the 27 arrivals only.
TIME	In winter all day long. In summer from late morning until afternoon.
MISC.	Absolutely nothing nearby. Be aware of dogs jumping around but usually they are not aggressive.

	Spot #2 – Hill – All Movements
WHERE	From the previous spot you need to drive about 900m further (offroad, with max 10km/h speed) until the road fork (see first photo below). At this point you need to keep left on the dirt road (see green arrow first picture). The right side of the road goes to the Aerodrom Turnișor / Aeroclubul României – “Hermann Oberth” Sibiu, no need to go there. Continue for about 900m until a sheepfold on your left side (see second photo below). In front of it there is a hill where you can spot from. Park the car near the hill, not close to the airport fence, and climb up.
WHAT	You can see all movements on the runway. Only some 27 arrivals will not pass by as they exit the runway earlier (see Lufthansa)
TIME	In winter all day long. In summer from late morning until afternoon.
MISC.	No ladder is needed as the hill is very high above the airport fence. We stayed there for 5 hours and no one told us anything. The police airport did regular checks on the runway but didn’t cared about us.
FOCAL LENGTH	A320 on runway = 300mm
